Penang, August 14, 2026 – UB Group has completed its inaugural SMART Engineer Training, marking the first delivery of its structured engineering development initiative aimed at strengthening practical technical capabilities for modern manufacturing environments.

The training focused on 3D Manufacturing Simulation, an increasingly relevant engineering discipline that enables manufacturing operations to be modeled, evaluated and optimized before physical implementation.

By applying digital simulation to factory operations, engineers can better understand material movement, assess process efficiency, identify potential bottlenecks and evaluate manufacturing workflows to support more informed engineering decisions.

Bridging Engineering Knowledge and Industrial Application

The inaugural program represents an important step in UB Group's broader effort to connect engineering knowledge with practical industrial applications.

As manufacturers adopt more sophisticated automation technologies, engineering talent must increasingly possess multidisciplinary capabilities spanning production processes, automation systems, industrial software and digital manufacturing technologies.

The SMART Engineer initiative is designed to support these evolving requirements through structured technical development and industry-based learning.

The first training was supported by Montratec as Authorized Training Assessor, reinforcing the importance of industry collaboration in developing relevant technical competencies.

In recognition of Montratec's support, Sam, UB Group's Head of New Product Introduction (NPI), presented a token of appreciation to Torben Wolpert, Technical Sales Specialist at Montratec.

Building Capabilities for the Future of Manufacturing

Beyond individual training programs, SMART Engineer forms part of UB Group's broader industrial enablement approach, which recognizes that successful automation depends on the people and capabilities required to design, deploy and sustain industrial systems.

By strengthening engineering competencies alongside its automation solutions, UB Group seeks to support a more integrated approach to industrial transformation.

The completion of the first SMART Engineer Training establishes a foundation for further technical development initiatives and continued collaboration with industry partners.

As manufacturing technologies continue to evolve, UB Group remains focused on developing practical engineering expertise that supports reliable, scalable and increasingly intelligent industrial operations.
